Shiver Your Timbers: Buccaneer Days off of Catalina Island

According to the little television monitor in the elevator where I work at, today is National Talk like a Pirate Day.
To celebrate, I did some poking around for any other piratey activities for those so inclined towards celebration.

While I didn't find much piratey activities happening today, I did discover a very interesting festival that
happens off of LA's very own Two Harbors section of Catalina Island.

This year marks the 18th Anniversary of Buccaneer Days, a 4 day festival which will take place October 4-7.
If boozing, boating and dressing in a pirate or wench costume shivers your timbers, this will be the place to go!

Catalina Island is about a 30 minute and $60 boat ride away from Marina del Rey.
For more information about the festival, transportation and lodging, visit the links below.

Tell them The Dread Pirate PL sent you.
They won't know who I am, but I will know who they arrrrrrr.
