MIRAH: The Best Import from the Pacific North West since Starbucks.
I'm no music expert...I can't write a super lengthy blog in detail about musicians and bands.
Instead, I like to compare musicians to emotions, or sometimes memories that can trigger emotions.
That said, MIRAH's music is like when you were 10 and carefree and riding a bike on a summers day...sometimes it's sweet (Engine Heart) and sometimes it's...dare-I-say...sassy (Look Up and Jerusalem).
With a voice like some 1950s sweetheart, Mirah's folky guitar is accompanied by organs, accordions and snare drums for a delightfully indie sound that is reminiscent of the Australian band Frente and The Moldy Peaches (who were featured on the Juno soundtrack).
Check her shiz out on MYSPACE or buy it online on AMAZON.
And btw, we are totally jealous of her stint on the old Nickelodeon show Double Dare.
