All that Jazz...

Citizens of Santa Monica may not be aware of this, but the gorgeous Victorian mansion that graces its Main Street as a bakery by day has a secret.

"What secret could it possibly have?" you guffaw over a cup of tea.

"The Victorian has been operating a secret jazz speakeasy once a week!" I confide confidently.

"Preposterous!" you exclaim and adjust your monocle.

"C'est vrai!" I prevail and slip more cyanide into the sugar bowl.

Now that our make believe conversation is out of the way...

Each Thursday, the Victorian welcomes jazz, blues and sometimes classical acts, open to the public that are in-the-know.  The ketch? There are a few.
  1. You have to know the password. Give them a call and do a little research before making a reservation.
  2. $20 drink minimum per person.
Don't tell them that I sent you.  They don't like publicity.
