Get Out Your Best Opera Glasses...
The LA Opera heats up with a sizzling (yes, that's right, I used sizzling in conjunction with opera) performance of Otello! The LA Weekly heats up Elevate Lounge afterwards for an OPERA AFTER PARTY.
Yes, L.A is very big on "after parties".
For those who haven't been, the LA Opera is really good times. Dress up a bit, get there early and walk around the gorgeous outdoor fountains, have some booze and enjoy the show!
Tickets to the performance this Thursday, February 21st start at only $20.
RSVP by calling 213.972.8001 and mention ARIA.
A word to the wise: Buy the $30 ticket and then "seat jump" to a better spot at half time.
"From the opening tempest scene to the spine tingling finish, Verdi's transformation of the original Shakespeare play crackles with theatrical electricity and incandescent intensity. When the evil Iago cleverly exploits Otello's obsessive jealousy, the Moor's innocent wife Desdemona is blindsided in the explosive dramatic friction. This musical portrait of Otello's descent into a tortured heart of darkness is explicit in every chilling detail - you'll feel the Moor's temples throb with Vesuvian rage and hear the blood boiling in his veins as he destroys all in life that he holds dear."
