Reach Out and Touch Someone
Once upon a time in the land of San Francisco, a friend didn't believe me when I told him about the concept of the Cuddle Party. He finally googled it and let's just say there were many an inside joke flying around after that.
Years later, yet another unbeliever hath doubted me!
BEHOLD-ye ole CUDDLE PARTY!
There's one happening in LA on March 14th, so get ready to reach out and touch someone.
Cuddle parties are "a playful social event designed for adults to explore boundaries, communication and affection".
Fear of being groped and molested in the not-so-fun way? Never fear-there are rules and boundaries and "facilitators" around at all times and most parties take place in yoga studios or other well lit places, not bordellos.
Cuddles parties seem to go hand-in-hand with the theory that holding a baby alot will make it happier and healthier as an adult. Now, don't get me wrong-unless Jesus/Dr. Seuss/Dr. Phil is at the cuddle party, being touched is not going to cure all that ails you. Still, scientific studies show that human contact as an adult can lessen stress and yes, boost your immunity.
