The Downtown Film Festival: The Prodigal Son Hath Returned

Hollywood v. Downtown L.A: This story has got more scandal then a celebutant dual, ya'll!

Hollywood, the ambitious daughter of Los Angeles, has been basking in stolen spotlights for decades as the perceived capital of the film industry.  She has not, however, always been the glittering golden child.

Back in "the day", before Hollywood was out of her training bra, starlets and stars frolicked at film premieres with directors and agents in Downtown Los Angeles. The Academy Awards were held for years at downtown's Biltmore and Ambassador hotels.

After a post WW2 power struggle, Downtown, Hollywood's willful and stubborn brother, went through a major breakdown.  Lost to despair for several decades, downtown dwindled into urban ruins and industrial decay.  After undergoing a slow rehabilitation, Downtown, with a calculating comeback, has finally been brought out of the shadows!

We are proud to be one of the first to share details about the highly anticipated Downtown Film Festival!

The fest will take place over 3 days and will utilize several cinema's with historic importance.  Henry K. Priest, co-director of the fest, has revealed that screenings will be featured by both independent talent and big-wig major studios.

Watch the official WEBSITE for updates on events and screenings!

It's going to be major, people!
